Psalms 139:23-24

Updated: Aug 30, 2024

In May of 2022, I was able to join a group of photographers from around the country and Canada for an incredible week of taking pictures all throughout Yellowstone. Cris and Dee Duncan, both Master Photographers, were our guides and they led us through miles and miles of stunning beauty. Their Find Your Focus retreats cannot be matched and you will not find a better team to teach and lead (and cook!) for you! https://fyfretreat.com/

Since I’m a nature lover and I had never been there before, I was continually overwhelmed by the majesty all around us as we explored the national park throughout the week. I was left awestruck around every turn with surprising scenes of snow-covered mountains, mama and baby bears and bison, and waterfalls that would take your breath away, as with many other scenes.

Although I took hundreds and hundreds of images that week (and I’m sure I’ll share more this month), this is one that I find hard to pass by quickly. If you’ve been there before, you’ll probably recognize the steam coming off of Mammoth Hot Springs. I don’t know if it is the rising steam, the variations in the colors of the limestone terraces, or the reflections in the pools of water, but the pictures I took that day are some of my favorites from the week.

As I shared yesterday on Day 1, I often want to find a “home” for a favorite verse and this is the case today, as well. I love this verse because it’s the perfect prayer to begin each day with and to set your heart right. If we consider how much we’re loved by the One who created us, then this prayer turns our focus off of ourselves and onto the Filler of Gaps and the Restorer of Broken Hearts. Trust Him today and this month to lead you in the fullness of who you were created to be! See you tomorrow for Day 3!
