What lies have you bound up today? Where are you not walking in freedom? Are there places in your life where you fear what others think? Sometimes it’s obvious to you and other times it’s not because the enemy has blinded you and you don’t know it.
I know this because it just happened to me today when I was stuck on a problem. I sent a voice memo to a good friend and she soon responded with encouragement and used familiar words that I have used to help others. It struck me that I wasn’t able to see that I was walking in fear of what others thought until the truth of her words shone a light on the lies I had been agreeing with.
It’s kind of like this spider web that can remain totally hidden in the shadows or the weeds for a time. However, when light illuminates it, we can see what’s about to ensnare us and we can step over it. In overcoming fear, it’s good to remember that . . . “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.” 1 John 4:18
See you tomorrow!
