I know that dandelions are considered weeds, but I have always loved them. Whether it’s the memory of blowing on them as kids or just appreciating the look of the soft wispiness of the little fluff ball tops, they’ve always made me smile.
A month or so after I first got my first good camera in 2015, I headed off to youth camp with my two girls in Colorado. I spent my breaks during the week taking as many pictures as possible and it was soon apparent that all things nature were my favorite subjects. And, of course, dandelions!
As far as the verse goes, I have also loved Psalm 90:12. However, it has stuck out to me even more since I read a book about heaven a couple years ago (“Imagine Heaven” by John Burke). Since we’re not promised tomorrow and our lives on earth are fleeting in the scope of eternity, I think I likened the brevity of it all to

a dandelion. The book was uplifting and honestly brought me great joy, but it also profoundly affected my view on what I was doing with my life. I wanted all of my days to count! In fact, I started writing my age in days on the calendar squares and have every day since then!
When we keep eternity in mind, I think we live differently. If we can begin to truly grasp how much we're loved, it makes this life so rich! May you be filled to overflowing with a glimpse of His goodness to you! See you tomorrow!
PS. I’m 18,652 days old today!
